Dixie Chicks New Song

I heard, saw the video for the new dixie chicks song, "Not ready to make nice." Has anybody else heard it? If the dixie chicks are trying to make a comback and try and make nice with country music fans, this is probalby not the song they should have released.
I think Larry the Cable Guy summed it up best, "The dixie chicks are good singers, But, I think the little fat one needs to learn to keep her mouth shut!"

When that song was about to come out, I saw an article on CNN.com (or somewhere) that a magazine did an interview with the group and "the little fat one" said "I am pretty much done with country music". She said something about its fans being closeminded (or words to that effect).

Pretty much done with them,
(its a shame, because the 2 sisters can play)

I say more power to them to write the kind of songs they want to sing and play.

More power to me not to buy their albums.

I actually think it is a good song. She says she stands behind what she said, and has no reason to apologize, just because her opinion is in the minority (especially amongst country music).

Ya, But, Its not too smart to say those kinda things, especially when your fan base is, hillbillies, rednecks, cowboys/girls, and good ole boys. Your bitting the hand that feeds ya.

Actions have consequences. If they're willing to live with the consequences of their actions, have at it, I suppose.

Tick, tick, tick.......

The beauty of this country is that you can say whatever you want. While I don't agree with her saying what she did it was her right as an american to voice her opinion. As for the new song I think it's a great song and music gives you the room to interpret the lyrics anyway that you want. When I first heard the song I had not heard anything about it being political until after so I was able to form an opinion based soley on the merits of the music and my own interpretation of the lyrics. Just my .02

Im not really surprised they are back. I guess time heals everything when it comes to celebs. Take a closer look at some of these hollywood types. They constantly run there mouths about this and that, and we still watch there shows and support them at the box office

Whatever

Can we say Tom Cruise? What happened to him lately? About a year ago he just went nuts!

I saw the video the other nite...... Lots of black paint or goop or whatever....there seemed to be a feeble attemp at apology, but the song was
definately a in your face deal...especially w/ the title. No, I am NOT ready to make nice w/ them.......its a shame. They ARE great vocalists.

No one will buy their CD's, no one will go to their concerts.

Stick a fork in it and call them done.

Making fun of the President when you play country music is about as smart as yelling the "N" word at an NAACP national convention. It's hard to come back from that.

It amazes me how many Hollywood types I used to really like to listen to and watch and now have no interest. Like Strisend, good voice no brain.

Not necessarily.

If they were to hold a few concerts in San Fransisco, Boston, New York and Austin I'm sure that they'd manage to make a lot more money then I could.
