As another flag waving, hard fighting, high flying, active duty member of the US Navy, I wholeheartedly agree with that fast mover's comments. I didn't realize until last August (when I attended a special Navy school) the level of sacrifice I would be asked to make, but I have to say that I'm ready to do it in a minute.

[move]I AM AN AMERICAN FIGHTING FOR MY COUNTRY AND OUR WAY OF LIFE. looks like they made a record deal

Not trying to make light of the situation, all the troops over there defending our country are in my prayers. I completely agree with the letter posted. It would be refreshing to see an artist volunteer to make a difference instead of trying to bring attention to themselves to make $$ and sell records.

Re:dixie chicks -- long but ...............

I want to thank Butch for saying what he did.
As another Canadian I am in FULL support of your President and all of your brave people risking their lives to protect the world. I think American should know that the Federal Government here does not speak for most Canadians here who support the war. President Bush did not need our troops, he just needed our verbal support. In his time of need against the UN I am ashamed of our Prime Minister's actions. Having many American family members I know that in the event of a disaster or in need of help the USA would be lined up at our boarder waiting to help.
I would also like to express my sorrow for the actions of the people in Quebec at the NHL game where the American anthem was booed. Not only was that un-called for, it was just low class. I was proud of Toronto as a Leaf fan and as a Canadian for there show of support tonight during the Leaf vs Sabre game when the American anthem was given a standing ovation.
If called upon I would put on a American uniform and go to Iraq and fight tonight.

Thank you for the chance to vent, and the protection America offers my loved ones and me.
Jeff

Only 26 per cent of respondents would support unilateral American action in Iraq"

"Montreal - Only 10 per cent of Canadians were in favour of military action by the United States and its allies against Iraq without the backing of the United Nations, a recent poll suggests."

" Six in ten (61%) Canadians now say they strongly or generally oppose a U.S. led military action to remove Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, up from 45 percent who voiced this opinion last August. Only three in ten (31%) support this position, while another 10 percent have no clear view. Since August, the most dramatic shift has been in the percentage who strongly oppose any U.S. action (rising from 25% to 39%)."

"a new Toronto Star poll says.

Only 38 per cent of Canadians favour joining a U.S.-led attack on Saddam Hussein's Iraq, the poll conducted by Ekos Research Associates in late August shows. I don't think leadership is doing what the majority of the population wants, but doing what is right, whether it is unpopular or not...
Can you imagine if a house of five was run the same way? Well kids, Do we buy A Sony play station, or groceries for a week??
I will also add, I think this prime minister is far too concerned with what way the wind is blowing, than the task at hand...

I wonder how those percentages would change if the terrorists started striking Canada?

Or if France didn't do so much trade with Iraq?

I agree with the last post. Bush is out on a limb, doing what he feels is right. I personally support him. The post about the sony playstation is right on.

Bush may not get re-elected, but he is doing something that Clinton should have done years ago.

Re:dixie chicks -- long but ...............

In response to the "anti-everything about America" group of whiners - think about this ... give up all the FREEDOM our forefathers fought to keep and move yourself over to the third world. Remember, you cannot take your money, agents, expensive toys, etc. Natalie and friends will look quite beautiful and live very well in Iraq with Sadaam. Women and children are treated worse than mongrels. A woman cannot present herself, she must live "under a cloak" and be true to a man that can have all the women and diseases he desires. Try the grocery market - Natalie should take pleasure in having to spend HOURS just trying to purchase food - the women must remove themselves and their items from the register if a man wants to purchase something! Then she and her elite friends can feast on the food that requires no proper cleaning or identification (is it camel or goat? Is it radioactive or grown in camel poop?). I'm sure their tender behinds will get used to never having toilet paper or taking a luxurious bath. They can send their children off to receive an absurd form of education. Just knowing they will be used as body armor for Mr. Sadaam should please her - we know he'll provide a plastic surgeon to remove the bullet hole scars from Natalie's body! She and all the Sadaam family will vacation in the holiest lands of this earth, being entertained by his games of destruction. Better than any movie we see, huh? Then at night, she can have sweet dreams knowing her bed will kept warm ONE BOMB AT A TIME!!!

Natalie is a disgrace to the real southern ladies of dixie.

Poles are not accurate. First they are polling only people that pay attention to that particular media source. There could be a large difference in oppinion on who they target vs majority.

Besides many who have educated opinions realize how insignifacant poles are and don't participate anyway.
