Re:Digital Camera

I just bought a new one for my girlfriend for Christmas, Canon A40. It uses CompactFlash for storage, which is common and inexpensive, takes standard AA batteries so you can use alkalines in a pinch. Max resolution is 1600x1200, or 2.1 megapixels. It does auto-everything, or has the option of manual control of f-stop and shutter speed, as well as white balance. It can accept accessory lenses, record up to 30 seconds of video with sound, has 3x optical zoom, and has a "panoramic" mode that helps you line up photos side by side to be stitched with software that comes with it. $250. At that price point, there's pretty much nothing out there that beats it. Now I just need a bigger monitor so I can see the whole photo. ;D

Examples from our trip to DC: http://jimpointeronline.homestead.com/rammisc.html

Scroll all the way down, and beware, they're quite large. The first is a panoramic shot from the front yard of Arlingon House at Arlington National Cemetery. Seven photos stitched together. The second was taken just after the sun went down at the Jefferson Memorial.

If you look at the picture, how would you like to see that in your rear view mirror if you were a small dinky car, sorta like a ricer, and had just upset that monster in your rear view mirror. Got the looks of a dragon. Coupled with that thread about a flamethrower out the tailpipe, reroute the flamethrower and have it come out the front. What a vision. Gad, I'm hijacking my own thread .....

Re:Digital Camera

Hey, don't bug me I'm over on Pappyman's thread trying to get his spell checker to work. Got it loaded, says it's there, no tool bar icon, still looking, oh wait, there it is in the tools drop down menu, now for a misspelled word to see if it fixes it. Whoa, that works slick.

Now I've hijacked my own thread twice. I better get off the internet, I refuse to be responsible for any actions today. I tell you, it's great working 4 10 hour days. Makes for 3 day weekends and lovin' it.

~Dave
