Not usually lumber, but yea, I regularly burn up perfectly good wood and throw food at it...

Now, Im planning on taking a piece of lumber and cooking my food on it instead of a metal grill...

Won't the lumber burn thru before the food cooks?

not so much as you would think
The wood chars somewhat and burns along the edges, but you keep a spray bottle handy to put the fire out and wet the wood a bit.

I see. So what you end up with is house-fire flavored food!

My dislike for 'fire-flavored food' COMES from my involvement with fire...

I'll politely pass.

On another note, looks like it's just you and me tonite. THERE'S a comforting thought, eh?

I haven't tried much else on planks besides fish. I like salmon on cedar planks. I wouldn't mind trying some wild game on planks too.

Evening Yall,

What Chaikwa, you lonesome! I knew ya missed me!

Got the AirDog all done, has to get a little inventive with compression fittings to fit it to the VP44 and retain the fuel pressure sensor for the Edge, but it all worked out. Holds a steady 20 psi at idle and doesnt drop past 17 with the EJA on level 5 and standing on it HARD! Gonna hot unlock it for him later. Gotta put the bed back on tomorrow.

Had a neighborhood supper at the neighbors, brisket and beans, rice dressing. Was great. He just put in a new pool and nice deck. Had a nice swim.

Relaxin and watching a little tv.
