diesel emissions
So had to take the Truck in for a NY inspection this morning. Passed with flying colors. Found out though the past two inspections on the truck were "illegal" because they didn't do the required emissions test?? I thought the NYS diesel emmissions was new? ohh well

In Texas they don't do emissions tests on diesels. 
The safety inspection for my truck costs $12.50. My wifes gasser SUV costs around $50 because of the emissions test.
I'm sure that will change in the near future though.

IIRC NYS started with diesel emissions in 2000, give or take a year. We cut back big time on used diesel truck sales because we had to farm out the inspections. And yes up until last year it would have been pretty easy to "fudge" a safety only inspection but now the NYVIP program is up and running so ALL inspections have to go thru DMV`s database.
