Deer 1, Truck 0

Hi Guys,
Well, I figured that my luck was good as our bowling team won the league championship last night. However on the way home, a small doe remodeled the front of the truck. At 55 mph the estimate is over 4 grand as it took the ac condensor, intercooler, radiator, bumper and panels and fender. Not a pretty sight plus I'm out a truck for a minimum of 2 weeks and probably 3.
While I'm pulling stuff from the truck, up pulls the adjustor so I figure good deal, this will get done quick. Not good, as this guy turns out to be a fool who wants my body shop to just patch things up. He's not happy as he has a rep for quality work and doesn't like to do "quicky" fixes. I'm not happy cause I sure don't want problems on the road pulling my fifth. Called the company late and left a voice mail so I'll see what response I get on Monday morning.
This was a real surprise as I had a prior claim that the company handled perfectly. We'll have to see where this one winds up.

Wish me luck,
Bill

PS I figure my prize money will cover my deductable but sure put a bite in my plans for the money.

I recomend seeing what a full replacement grill guard would cost compared to the front bumper and try to get one for the truck so that next time the deer will have to go to the body shop. Good luck with the ins adj. if he wants to patch tell him he needs to guarantee the work and refund any exspenses that the breakdown from the patching causes you while your on the road. I did that once and they replaced it instead of patching it.

Ask for a different adjuster. Sounds like the person is more worried about the company then your safety.

I get about 15 deer a night in my back yard. I have been lucky so far (knock on wood).

Things may be more promising. Insurance company returned my call but I was out and missed it. Like I said the company has been great before but it appears that this adjustor just doesn't have a clue.
May have to look for a good bumperguard as our deer population is out of sight around here. And with over 110 inches of snow this winter, they are out bigtime feeding now.

Also.... Forgot to say.. Call Brown's in New Braunfels TX... (830)625-8712, or 800-625-8712... They are WAY cheaper than Ranch Hand, and the Quality is better.. Ranch Hand front end replacements are going for ~$900 these days, and Browns has them for about $600. Hand Made, Not Machine Made like Ranch Hand.. The only reason I went the Ranch Hand way, is a friend of mine runs one of the stores... Just an Honest opinion!

-Chris-
