Comparing those that wish to date my daughter with a prospect/probate is a slap in the face of all prospects everywhere.

We're on the same page...a good probate/prospect has heart, it seems like a long time ago but I keep in touch.

It's funny how you can be big and tough till she comes along, now you are laying on the floor with her on your chest while you are making all kind of funny sounding noises to her..
You know, the bugga boo's and the coochi coo's. I'll bet you couldn't get the smile off your face even if you wanted to.
But just laying on the couch watching TV with her asleep in your arms has got to be one of my favorites Ya just turn to butter...

You can just tell she has got something on her mind.

Thanks to everyone for all the complements!

Jim… you said it best. I never really considered having kids but the moment I held her for the first time something changed inside me. Now my life revolves around her. I live to see her smile and I will make a fool out of myself to see it. There is nothing better in this world then hearing her little laugh and watching that big grin come across her face. Even small things like how she blinks her eyes are cute to me. Every night that I’m not at the station we have a ritual that we go through. I feed her around 9:00 PM and then she sits on a pillow right next to me on the bed and we watch TV (like I’m really watching the TV at times like these). She will look at the TV and then look up at me like she wants to make sure I’m still there. Then she falls asleep. I’ll hold her for a while and then reluctantly I will put her in her crib.

I try to cherish every moment with her. I figure that I have 10-12 good years with her and then she will become a teenager. Dating??? I don’t think so.

Britt

t-7 I know what you mean. I changed the moment I saw my daughter, and I couldn't imagine life without her. Now I have a son on the way.. any day now, I wonder if it's going to be the same with him?

Yes, its just as great.... even better from the aspect of you get to start looking forward to all the things you can do together, and its scary too, 'cause you start realizing that he will be just like you in so many ways.....but it is great..

And a fine pair they are. I've just over the past year learned to appreciate cats. We had one kitten that would visit and "say" goodmorning before he'd even eat. Something got him, not sure what ...missed him a long time. We adopted this scraggly bent tail pregnant female with a wierd coat. After we gave away the kittens, we got'er fixed and now she's just a good 'ol lazy cat. She comes out to the garden with me when I pick beans, tomatoes or okra....that's all I planted this year except for the purple top turnip greens and radishes I planted today.
