cutting chrome pipe?

i was woundering if any 1 had or knows of a way to cut chrome pipe. its for my harley the pipes i want are only in slash cut and i want strait cut. is there a way to cut it with out recking it. i was thinking just tape it and use a fine hack saw blade and just go slow. a cutting wheel or a sawsall i think would just be to violent. i mean i have cut chrome pipe before like with stacks and such but always just blew through it and didnt care just because it was going to get covered up by either a band clamp or a belled piece of pipe. thanks for the help.

cut them, then go back over the cut with a sanding disk or file to clean up the cut.

be easier just to talk yourself into a different set of pipes. if you cut the chromed part of the pipe wouldn't it need to be rechromed?

I work at a large hydralic cylinder manufacturer and all our rods are chrome plated. Most plating is half a thou(.0005") thick. Thats not much. You need to be carefull not to chip the chrome plating. Cheap plating will chip and flake off if it is damged in the cutting procces. The end of the pipe will not have plating on it anymore and be prone to rust on the cross section of the cut.
