Re:Cummins trivia
Don't know about the "de los Bravo" part of it. We just called it Chilpancingo. I believe it is the capital of Guerrero (is that right??) I do recall it being fairly close to Acapulco though. The guys at the bus station were always trying to sell us tickets to Acapulco.

How about a bottle of orange coke with a straw? That's safe enough....

Orange Coke ??? Don't have that down here. Is that a new Coke product? But sure, whatever turns your crank. But why not Tequila if you are in Mexico? Come down here and I will buy. Deal?

Re:Cummins trivia
Today was reminded of one of my other lives many years ago when I was bumming my way around the world. Worked on a small 10,000 ton ship for a few months. It did not have a Cummins engine, but I do remember it as a 7 cylinder, two stroke, supercharged diesel engine that ran about 600 rpm at cruise. It had only one valve per cylinder, the exhaust valve. Each piston weighed one ton. On one of my shifts I removed a piston by myself with the use of a gantry. I could just carry one valve on my shoulder and hand lapped the seat. No reverse gear. The engine was stopped, a huge lever moved which changed the timing and allowed the engine to run backwards. No oil pump inside the engine. The oil was fed by external pumps and filtered thru a centrifuge. Starting the engine was by compressed air from huge air tanks fed by five compressors. Interesting experience.
