Talking CTD vs SRT

When I had to tow my parents 22' 5900lb boat last month I happened upon a SRT-10 at a stop light. (cute little wing)

We both took off from the stop light and I made sure to keep door handle to door handle 0-50 mph.

Red light.
Srt driver is looking at me, looking at boat, looking at me again

Green light I give it just enough juice to stay door handle to door handle 0-55.

Red light.
Srt driver is burning holes in my drivers window and I'm nochalantly.

Green light I mash the pedal getting a whole truck length wholeshot on him when he finally realizes what is going on he bangs second with a healthy bark and gets up to drivers door............ then he misses third gear!!! ............ I pull ahead by a cab and then...................

Then he left me like a dead bug on the side of the road!!

Moral of the story don't race guys in CTD's as they'll race most anyone, anytime, just to watch your eyes pop out!!

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to claim they hung with an SRT-10....

Ask John_P, not only did he "hang" with, but he destroyed an SRT-10 Truck!! at Rockingham earlier this year.

"left me like a dead bug on the side of the road" is not exactly "hanging with" in my book

Winning was never my objective as I was towing a 5900lb boat, but seeing his eyes pop out and getting him so flustered that he missed a gear was priceless!!

the real question is did u let out some nice smoke and ruin his nice lil paint job? and polished rims?......in an ideal world you're blow his wing off...then you'd be a legend (wings on trucks tisk tisk)

I can imagine that the wing actually helps quite a bit, doesn't it?

And I don't think that he was exactly stepping on it off the line if you were able to keep up...
(Unless you got more stuffed under your hood than your signatue claims...)

Obviously he was half throttle...those things would put a major hurting on most bombed EMPTY CTD's ...but good try anyway

If I could afford the gas ... I'd love an SRT. You know them boys driving the SRT's are always looking for the next victim. I would have loved to see his face when he missed a gear .

No smoke job sorry he was in the fast lane!

Yes, I know I'd never stand a chance but the first two lights were only about 1/8 mile apart! Srt= 1st gear, 2nd and shut it down to stop. Nor did he realize what I was doing until the 3rd light.

No boxes, no hot rod parts,(YET!), just good timing!

I have a friend with a mildly modified Lightning, who always wants to race me. I said "sure, but we'll have 2 races"

He was like, "2 races?"

"One empty, one with 5k behind us"

He said that was cheating

FYI Boys,

The SRT-10 truck is only good for mid 13 second 1/4 mile times, there are a TON of CTD's that run in the 12's and below!! Do the math-a good running CTD will beat one of those trucks.

Anyone know what the Linkenfelter SRT-10 runs?
