Well like most places in the country, work here in vegas is slow to say the least. i applied at the city water department for a maintenance position. they took the 30 most qualified applicants and gave us a written test. I was the top scorer with 89% correct. It wasn't an especially hard test but they had 6 out of 24 applicants pass. that is a 75% failure rate (!). I did my interview yesterday and I feel pretty good about it. I could use some positive vibes or for the religiously inclined a prayer or two. Thanks[
Good luck and I hope everything works out for you. may I suggest you you study and get your operators certification. Generally you will make a few bucks more an hour if certified to operate facilities. Some of the better study materials are the University of Ca. Sacramento operator manuals. Also these manuals are correspondence courses and sometimes the utility will pay for them. Keith
This is what I was told when I started working in the water business nearly 30 years ago. It is still some of the best advice I can give anyone starting off.

Good luck. May want to stop by there (in the morning)and politely ask if they have made a decision, or even ask to talk to the person. Then see if you could stop by tomorrow and do it. Appearance and attitude might help get it, couldn't hurt. Remember to look and act professional

Good Job! when you get the job, you can start going to school and work toward getting your state operator certifications! That will increase your opportunities for advancement and job security!
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
