"The Cooler" August 8 - 14

New week, new thread.
Get 'em while there hot.

Gorgeous day in DC.
Temps in the high 60s this morning, beautiful sunshine.

Pancakes, eggs, bacon, scrapple, and coffee all gone.
(must be a Northern Verson of spell-check, doesn't recognize scrapple. )
Need a nap.

Work to do in the garage.....gotta get crackin'

Y'all have a safe day.

Ed

We have scrapple at least this far north. In my experience scrapple starts in the north and works it's way south very rapidly.

Phew... got the truck cleaned on the inside. Let's say it was necessary.

Even re-colored all the plastic parts and the floor mat. Looks like a new truck on the inside- now let's get to teh outside still enough dirt on it to look like a ghillie suit

Well, was a great day here in the Heart of America. Started with just enough rain to settle the dust in teh training pens, then got sunny and in the 80's .
Got two more horses in to train, love it! ($$$$$ ).
The owner says they jump out of thier skins at everything, and havent had a saddle on thier backs ion 4 years, so they ought to be fun.

Gotta go back to work at the full time job in the AM, and its suppossed ot be a beatifull week, BUMMER.

Better get goin', its feeding time fer the animals(read"kids") then for the horses....

Just spent 12 hours driving back to south Texas for another week of work. Going to sleep on my stomach tonight and let the saddle sores heal some.

Getting ready to roll out of here and head back to Weather Dry Creek. Truck is running fine. Taking the back roads looking for jeep parts, so the 8 hour drive will end up being closer to 12
See y'all tomorrow at the regular place and time.

B-e-a-utiful weekend here in the mid south. Blew $6k on a bran new JD GT 235 riding mower Saturday, schweeeeeeeet. Hydro drive, beer holder, cruise control and the works. Four year maintenance contract, I don't do nothin but put in gas and turn the key.

Blew about 500 rounds of ammo into the mud Sunday afternoon, schweeeeeeter. Got to shoot some friends weapons you don't get to see every day. Fired about 50 rounds through that 454 Casull I got and near broke two fingers, ouch. Blew a clouple hundred through the new 9 and the 45-er. Pushed about a hundred through the little Walther 22 I just got.

It just don't get no better'n that does it?

Have a b-e-a-u-tiful day.

Another beautiful day in the Nation's Capital.
Feels more like late September than early August.
Cool temps & sunny skies.

Beast is sittin' at home today.
G-G in the parking lot after an emergency stator-ectomy yesterday.
Dealer said the earliest they'd get to me would be on the 25th.
It took me 4.5 hours to change it without the special tools and that includes a trip to the dealer for parts.
Dealer charges 3 hours @ $60 hr.
Running and charging like a champ.

Y'all have a safe Monday.

I was a BEAUTIFUL weekend here in Central North Carolina... And my lovely fiancee' and I worked our butts off through it. But, we got a ton accomplished:

Me-
Painted living room, 2 coats
mowed the lawn after 3 stops to find a new blade, wound up sharpening the one I have, changing the oil, and putting in new spark plug
Rotated a few tires on the dually, having a mis-matched set on the duals triggers my OCD (4 BFG's, 2 Pirelli's)
Set the idle (a little too high)
washed the truck thoroughly
removed old radio, installed radio from her car, cleaned the gauges/plastic/vents while the dash was apart
adjusted t-case lever, was not getting 4LO, now it works juuust fine
removed fried brake controller, moved ATS tranny controller over to a MUCH better location, made new mount bracket, looks slick!
Lubed all hinges, greased all zerk fittings, and proceeded to lock keys in truck (luckily, window was open just enough to hit the unlock buttong with a piece of hard brake line)
removed radio from her car, installed new one ('89 very cherry Toyota... required disassembling the left side dash trim, glovebox & center console removal, and removal of 20+ screws before I could get the trim around the dash out!)
raised the idle on her car (QUITE a pain)
new rear brakes on her car (I hate drums!!)

Her-
did all the laundry
recovered entire sectional sofa/recliner with new material (12 hours, 500 staples, lotsa needle ******!)
washed & waxed her car
kept me fed & hydrated

We need a weekend for our weekend!

I worked everyday this weekend for 13 hours a day. Moved my new roommate in. Cleaned up the house, the garage, and my room. Decorated the walls with beer posters. Getting ready to go and open a bank account up here in College Station just for my truck. Once that's done, I think I'm gonna head out to the pool and drink some ice cold beer and look at the lovely ladies. Yall take it easy.

Y'all work too darned hard on your days off !!! Now that the family has moved up to the farm and I am here all alone ... things get real boring, real quick. I kinda forgot what absolute silence was like ... pretty spooky.

Have a great week ... and get some rest, it sounds like most of you need it !!!

Good Morning.
Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to spend as much of the next 8 hours sipping coffee, eating pastries, & surfing the DTR site as humanly possible.
If you are captured, the moderators will deny any knowledge of your actions.............
This thread will self-destruct in 10 seconds.......................

Whatever happened to those great old shows?

He-he-he-he beat Joel in again.........

Humididididity is Baaaaack........
The Beast got another day off, G-G in the parking lot.

Y'all have a safe day.
