I wore contacts for quite awhile - getting them in at the start is a real chore but you will be able to put them in on the first try after you get used to it.

Contacts should never hurt, I always had the high water ones which are supposed to make them more comfortable. That being said, I never found a pair that were really comfortable. That was quite some time ago - there are many new products on the market and I think Im going to take another stab at it - maybe with the daily disposables.

Im too chicken for eye surgery - I know a few people with botch jobs.

I started wearing glasses in 3rd grade and my parent later bought me contacts in 5th grade. I was very near-sighted. Over the course of my 19 years of bad eyesight, I had used Alcon, Bausch & Lomb, and Accu-vue. Never really had a problem with wearing them, unless they were worn out or dirty. Proper fitting and measuring is key with these things. Once you get used to inserting and removal it's easy, just be sure and keep them clean.

One thing better than contacts, is laser surgery. 20/20 never looked so good

I've had them for about 5 years. The first time I tried to put them in, my eyes got so wattered I had to come back and try again. It took me a long time to get use to it, and poking my eyes. Doesn't help that my fingers are massive, but eventully I got use to it. Only bad part is, my eyes got so use to it, I could easily poke myself in the eye and not blink. The thing I found was, sometimes they didn't seat in perfectly, and they would bother me. Once you get use to them you just need to make sure they are in and you should forget they are in.

I always found them a pain, I haven't wore them much for a good two years. To chicken for surgery to, and cheap, got a lot of things i'd rather spend the coin on right now
