As a matter of fact, I have done both myself. If Connecticut is anything like our academy, it aint no game. You also don't get recycled 100 times for failing a test, like in the military. They just send you packing. Our dept. was actually derived from the Army (horse cavalry) at the beginning of world war 1, because there was no military left here to provide security for steel mines, and auto factories that were building tanks guns and ammo.

 

Well Jack ... how is it there ? Is what you are learning interesting or dry, legal stuff ? Hang in there ... we're proud of ya !!

I had thought about doing the higway patrol deal after I was done in the Navy but the pay scale here is too depressing. I hope it's better where you are !!

Toledo-Bend, "Don't just play army ... JOIN IT" is what you would say to a bunch of teenagers all cammo'd up out on the paintball field .... NOT to a person of Jack's caliber.

Jack, graduating from teh state academy here is one of my "lifes high-lites" right up ther ewith my kids being born..
I can tthink of anything i woujdl change, nor a better way to spend one slife than improving the lives of otehrs as a LEO...
we are all very proud of you, and thank you for taking up the cause of keeping our world a safer place to live, just as much as those fighting in the wars outside our borders.
