Computer Gurus...I need help
For some reason I can not connect to the web with Firefox from my laptop. Just started all the sudden last night. When I click the icon I get the below message.

It works fine from my desk top. I am on IE7 from my laptop right now so I know my wireless router should be OK.
Any suggestions what to do or where to look to fix the issue?
Thanks

The automatic update yesterday. Probably right before my problem started
Will I loose all my settings and bookmarks doing this?

You will lose your settings but you can export and save your bookmarks, then import em later. I believe this is fairly easy to do.
I can write you some steps OR find you some, if you like

My Pleasure.
To Export
Open Firefox.
Select Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks.
The Bookmarks Manager opens. Click File > Export…
Save the bookmark.html file wherever you wish. I usually prefer the Desktop.
I also found a free little program to save all bookmarks, mail, contacts, history, extensions, and cache
here is the link http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/download.php , then click install program.
The instructions are :
Pick your Mozilla program and your use and choose Backup a profile.
You will be able to password-protect your backup file.
You can run Firefox when you are backing up.
When you are done, the resulting .pcv file will contain all your settings.
Close the backup program
Uninstall your old firefox.
Download and install new firefox
Go to Mozbackup
Now choose the option “restore a profile”.
This should set your Firefox in the same way you had it in before.
Hope this helps

If you dont want to use the software, then to import your bookmarks back.
Firefox 2 and earlier: "Bookmarks -> Organize (or Manage) Bookmarks -> File -> Import -> From File"
Firefox 3: "Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Import HTML... -> from an HTML File"

Leaper,
I actually could not open FF at all to do what you suggested. I did the uninstall and reinstall and update thing and that seems to have fixed the problem. Not exactly sure what I did but my bookmarks were saved. All seems to be OK now. Thanks for taking the time to type that up.
Thanks to everyone for the help.
I got my FF back. I hate to use IE now

I have heard good things about Chrome, but I am just afraid to try something new again right now. I used IE for many years and now FF for about 2 years and have gotten real comfortable with it. By the time I am ready for a new one, the Chrome will probably be upgraded to Platinum or something!!
