Re:Competition

just treat yor customers better and fair and you should have plenty of hauling. I do that and no matter what the competion does i still get the business because of the way i treat my customers. I'd call the ad tho ask 'em about the lack of professionalism by copying the ad.

There's a lotta "Bull Shipping" going on around Washington DC too. Just ask any Politician.

Re:Competition

CH, I'm sure the people you haul for appreciate the job you do for them or they wouldn't call back. They also wouldn't want the same thing to happen to them in turn. The other day, the company I work for had a vendor make a call. To make a long story short they came in to sell a knock-off of another one of our vendors gearboxes. They were lucky our owners only told them not to bother trying that again. They could have lost the account. They try to do business not just by the dollar, but by the business relationship also. Hopefully your customers value your business too.

CH

I'm sure you offer a quality service at a fair price. If I were one of your customers, $5 wouldn't sway me to change.
Competition makes us all work harder, but loyalty means a lot too.

Re:Competition

These guys have all said a mouthful when they mention your integrity. It is true if you give a man a good product at a fair price, you will have more work than you can handle.

Treat your customers with respect and never leave them hanging when they try to call, lack of communication really hurts a business.

Never talk bad about your competition, as it takes away from your own integrity and waste time you could be using to make yourself a better person.

I would how ever call the fellow and tell him that you would appreciate that he not copy your ad. Or perhaps you could ignore it and make yourself an updated ad, with a little more flair than before.

That thing I said earlier about a false load, was meant as a joke. Just do what you do best, and the work will keep coming in, obviously anybody who has any dealings with you already knows what a great guy your are!.
