I personally would like it to stay. Maybe a different name to the site would draw more of a crowd. I logged on almost every day on that site hoping to avoid a site shutdown-and hoping the "guests" would either log on or join.
Lots of good info to share-But I can talk to myself only for so long.

If it must go, so be it.

Well, even though a mopar forum sounds cool, I think the situation call for a forum like "thriftycommute" or "econobox" etc- anything that helps save money (and maybe energy) by doing things yourself without investing much money. This can include things to do to your house, vehicles etc. Maybe even a carpool section for different regions.

Just my 2c

altho, that opel zafira rental I had in Norway was a fun car to drive.. It just about fit the roads there and the little 1.9L turbo diesel would churn along nicely.

Pretty good idea. This sights full of do-it-yourselfers. Maybe something with DIY in the name.

Well, yes and no. If you look at the RSS feeds most of it is on new tech, fuels, applications etc.

I still feel that the site can do well, I see "guests' all the time. They just need to log in and participate. (I even went as far as posting about that over there.)heck, I even saw a member floating around tonight(other then me).

I think a diesel performance site. A site dedicated to nothing but performace accessories for the big 3 diesel makers. As you may notice the 3rd gen perfomance section on DTR is always the mostly used section. Add 2 more styles of engines and you've got a whole forum of nothing but performance. Getting sponsors and members wont be a problem.

I like this idea. There are forums for virtually any auto sold. Don't follow them, do something different.

Ask everyone on this forum to contribute one thing original they made. I could tell you about a couple of 1949,1951 Cats I rebuilt, or a dog house built from a chest type freezer, or a pump house build from a freezer, or a fishing pole holder, or a 7'X6' door in a 50' silo, or a wood cart, or a weed eater engine converted to an outboard for a canoe, or.....some wrenches for special applications. Everybody's done it, just gather it in one place.

How about a "Common Sense" forum? It could be divided into auto, home, small engines, farming, farm machinery, ride sharing, hauling/moving, flying, hobbies. How about a lesson to help people determine if all the exaggerated pictures sent in internet are real or photo chopped?

Look at the "Farm Show" magazine and see all the ideas folks come up with, they charge $20 a year to get it!

I'm driving an econobox to be able to keep my truck through these times.
I think that any way to save cash without sacrificing comfort (like insulating your home), repairing stuff instead of buying it new from China, developing new and practical things that can be home made or made locally should be a nice impulse to the economy, and having more $$$ in the pocket should be enough motivation.

I think that clean isn't what gets a majority at the moment- cheap is more important for most IMO. (Over here the Prius does not sell too good because there are cars that are much cheaper per km)

Just my 2€-cents

Ok heres my 2nd idea.

I personally like sticking to things that interest me and what I'm somewhat knowledgable in. Since your going to be the webmaster Jack and know alot about it how about something for police officers? I know laws are different in every state but I bet the knowledge and experience of police officers would have great suggestion for dangerous situation that could be helpfull. Plus think of all the "Round Table Stories" that would get told.
