cell phone batteries, motorola/nextel

I have a motorola i305. The original battery lasted for only 4 mo. I bought a new one on e-bay (brand new) now thats getting weak after 3 mo. anyone have any suggestions? It's a great durable, water resistant phone. It's just got battery issues.

I have used the same battery in three phones so far. i55,i305,and my i355. I have a couple of new ones laying around. When I buy a new phone, about one every two years, I keep my battery and us it. I run them down until it ways low battery and charge it overnight. I have never had any issue with Nextel, or my motorola phones.

Motorola offers a 1 year warranty on the batteries... if the battery actually fails, they will replace it free....

Those things just eat batteries. Nextel Blackberries do it, too. On every Nextel phone I've had, I've never been able to keep a battery more than six months. They just get to where they won't run the stupid phone for an entire work day at that point. I'm sure it has to do with the drain associated with running two radios, phone and two-way. I'm trying one of those extended batteries in my Blackberry right now, hoping that it'll last a bit longer.

I just had to get me a car charger after awhile, my phone kept dying on me during the work day so I had no choice. NEXTEL sucks in my opinion....service, phones, everything about them!!!

I have a Motorola V60i that lasts over a week between charges.I leave it on all the time until the battery dies then I shut it off and recharge it.I realize that this will not work for everyone but it sure surprised me.I had a Startac before this with the extra capacity battery and I still had to charge it every night.I do not use the phone much but I don't think I can complain on the battery life it gives me.Ron G
