Celebrex - side effects? alternatives?

they put wife on it.

it made her tummy so uneasy, she had me take them for a week (my feet ALWAYS hurt) to use me as the experiment.

sure enough, it made my tummy do back flips.

she stayed off it for 3 days to get the tummy settled out,

but today, her hands are aching (beginning stages of RA?)

Yeah real bad side affects from that stuff, my wife has R/A BAD and was prescribed Viox, After i showed her the real deal side affects , and considering her overall health we decided it was in her BEST interest to stop using it.

MAKE sure you read ALL the fine print, most people are far better off suffering the pain of R/A then using the meds with all the side affects.

JMHO,

Tim

I was introduced to a product called Devil's claw. You can buy it in the pharmacy or a vitamin store. It is an extract from the root of the Devil's claw plant. No side affects and it works very good for joint pain and arthritis. I don't like to go a day without it.

If you're going to take Naprosyn, at least grab some Nexium while you're at it - Naprosyn can make your stomach bleed as well.

Since I quit taking opiates, I've been on Tylenol.

I deal with the pain - because I never want to go down that road again. (opiates)

Do some searches for NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). They all have similar side effects, some worse than others. The ones that work the best have the most side effects. Have her talk to her doctor about trying some different ones. Motrin (Ibuprofen) is my favorite and gets me through each day really. Not one will fit everyone. Yep, used to be a pharmacy tech prior to becoming a computer geek.

Used Celebrex after shoulder and knee surgeries and they worked well for me but years later I'm off the prescriptions and I now use "MOVE-FREE" by Schiff. (it's a mix of Glucosamine, Condroitin and MSM and a couple others I can't remember/pronounce/spell) I get it at Sam's club or Fred Meyer works well and is relativly inexpensive.

3 for me, 1 for the dog. (he's old and hips are going.....)
