CB's
Re:CB's
Bart, HERE is a link to Wilsons site with a parts break down. If you look in there parts page,,it will give you various lengths of whip antennas for your Wilson. But, I believe I am running the 49".

In order to see a significant gain directly in front of and behind you (ie. end fire array) the 2 antennas must be spaced 1/2 wavelength apart. For CB, that's about 17 feet. In addition you'll need a phasing harness consisting of specific lengths of 50 ohm and 75 ohm coax. There really isn't much to gain (no pun intended) by going with 2 antennas other than going for a look, and I must admit, phox's ride looks really nice that way. But I'd go so far as to leave one antenna disconnected to preserve omnidirectional radiation pattern one antenna offers.

Tom
[/quote]

Yes, did mine mainly for looks.
I did get a good cophase harness from Firestik, and per the instructions, didn't cut any of it, just coiled the excess out of the way.
My radio seems to work ok, can talk and listen to the best of them.
I do recieve better from in front of me than behind me, but as far as transmitting I've talked both ways.

If your relying on CB rather than just for looks, I'd reccomend a single Wilson wip mounted as high as possible, middle of the roof is the best spot IMHO.

phox
