While that is an impressive car, I think it's sad that the original owner didn't drive it more and enjoy it. I hate to see people buy these really nice cars and just let them sit in the garage. I'm sorry, but if you don't plan on driving it more than 5 miles a week, then plese don't buy it and let someone else who will drive it buy it. Some cars are just to pretty to leave in a garage. The Grand National being one of them. People tell me dad that he shouldn't drive his vette everyday because it hurts the resale value. He always says why? I bought it to drive it. If I wanted to buy a car to keep in a garage I would have bought a model. Sorry for that little rant but it kills me to see such exquisite machines that were built to be driven, and driven hard, rotting away in a garage.

Rest assured that this National wasn't "rotting away" in somebody's garage. That thing is showroom quality.

Or maybe it has a totally rusted away suspension and $500 worth of wax, with no driveline included. You never know off of eBay.

I don't know anything about Buick Grand National's... I'd assume that the car goes faster then the 85 MPH speedometer, correct?

Those GNs are sweeeeeeeeeet! I remember getting spanked a couple of times in my 440 Road Runner w/ NOS! The GNs get up to the burnout box and you don't hear anything. You look over and you faintly hear the whistle and the tires are frying. It's amazing how fast that little 6 cylinder will run........

I never understood why Buick just dropped the line at the gnx..... they had a faithfull following building and growing respect. So what if it was an outdated pushrod v6... they should ahave stuffed it under the hood of a sport shaped car, something ala vette killer, even with that old v6 it would gain respect quick and then say after three years of that blown 3.8 they could have kept the body of the new sportscar and slipped in the next gen motor, something more modern and kept it going till they ran that out of options on a now older body and then did the major body rebuild again. that would make about six years of toying and tweaking. Truly the world class sportscar that never was.................

I know it's not polite to ask how much someone paid for something, so I won't.

The reason the GN vanished is because Buick was changing body shells. They were the last of the rear wheel drive platforms, GM basically went front wheel drive from that platform on. The GNX model of the GN was the last hurrah.

I was told he is trying for the sixes. I do not know Bill, but know two people that do. Not to bad for a little six.

I have an 87 T-Type that my Dad purchased new and now has 49000 miles on it. It runs mid 11s and has been to Bowling Green to the Buick Nats many times. The newer 3800 engines also run pretty good and would do even better in a rear wheel drive platform. My Wifes 99 Buick Regal GS has ran a best of 13.83 with just a smaller supercharger pulley, K&N cone filter and free flowing muffler. I liked the Turbo Buicks when they were new but was busy racing a big block Buick and never made the switch. Hopefully I will find the time to get this car back down to Bowling Green as that was Dad's main thing to attend every year before he passed away last Nov.
