Well I'am down here working for a couple of weeks and just wondering if there is anyone down and around these parts. Unfortunatly my truck is at home in the driveway(front hub assembly went the day before I was to leave.) and Iam missing the CTD hugely. Im stuck travelling in one of my co-workers duramax.
Anyways I was just hoping to meet a few ppl and possibly check out a few rides.

 

Its been a few years since I was in Salem, IL, but as I recall the best thing you can do is drive to Mt. Vernon.

How far do you live from Devon? I work with a guy that lives there. I live about 15 miles out of Effingham, but I am currently in Africa. I won't get home until the 4th. There is actually quite a bit to do in Effingham as well. Check out "A Day Away" on the home page of http://www.effinghamdailynews.com/. It is about a 40 page guide in a PDF file of all the stuff going on in the area. It is small town living though so if you are expecting lots of big city excitement you can forget it.

 

Salem is a wide spot in the road with several hotels and an applebee's.
there was a cafe in town that stayed busy, just never open when I come back from the job and Im not a breakfast person.
