in 2004 & 2005, we can now do the whole sales tax deduction thing if you itemize. you can also deduct sales tax on boats, cars, etc. i bought my new CTD 12/30/2004, but it was out of state. i did not pay the sales tax on it in texas until i got home, but by then it was 2005. are you supposed to take the deduction on the truck's sales tax in 2004 or 2005?

 

I'm not an expert, but everything I've ever heard is that it counts (income, deductions whatever) when you actually pay them. Though, I think there's a loophole for income you're supposed to get in one year that you voluntarily defer. But that's a different story.

In your case, I'd guess you have to wait until next year's return. But, like I said, I'm not an expert.

 

you can claim it...............sales tax is attached to the vehicle on the day of sale..

 

I'm not a tax "expert" but I know how NOT to pay taxes.


Get a 16 ft trailer, dream up xyz transport, trucking, express, delivery, etc, etc, etc.
