ramlovingvet- I have no doubt that will kill all of my moles. I also have no doubt that it will kill my neighbors at the same time.

The last I checked, our Surplus store was fresh out of claymores and bouncin' bettys
But you might still be able to make an ersatz gopher bomb...

One of our more "memorable" now-retired plant employees had gopher problems in his back yard some years back.
Frank S. came up with an idea on killin' gophers, as he was thoroughly frustrated with gophers perforating his green yard with bright sandpiles..
He opened up a tunnel and fired up his Oxy/Acetylene torch and tapped the flame out. He stuck the torch in the hole, backfilled it with a little sand and let it run for WAY too long. When Frank lit the mixture off, it blew sand and strips of grass out of his backyard radiating outward wherever the tunnels ran. One ran a little too close to the house and it raised quite a pile of sand topped with shredded roots. The wife almost had a seizure from the horrendous noise, thinking Frank had retired himself to the great hereafter..

The gopher sandpiles cleared up LONG before the dead, shredded grass roots recovered.

Lest anyone even THINK about using Oxy/Acetylene....
And ESPECIALLY thinking that: "If a little does a little good,..."

This is about Ground hogs, not gophers but still along the same story line...

I had a friend who decided to rid his back field of some pesky ground hogs. He took a gas can up the hill and proceeded to pour gas down into one of them. He figured it was a big hole so he poured plenty into it

He set the can down and tossed a match into the hole..The field erupted all around him With explosions and flame coming out of multiple holes. Luckily he was not damaged except for some rattled wits.

Lesson learned was that gasoline is NOT a good way to rid yourself of underground pests

Update....Day 2 and no activity!!!!!!!! I'm not getting my hopes up to far. Those little buggers are probally just messin' with me. They probably went to get some recruits to come back and completely destroy my yard this weekend before the big party.

Borrow one of those Rodenator's. That would be fun even if you didn't have any rodents!
But stick with the propane/oxygen mixture.. its powerful enough.

I used to use Freon 12 to gas 'em... Can you tell how long ago THAT was?

I second that. Use the Rodenator. There is a link to it on page 2. Very effective and fun to use.

I saw the videos and it looks awesome. I don't know what will be worse: completely blowing the daylights out of my yard and moles all at once, or patching holes everyday of my life! Ummmmm...........I think I'll blow things up. Anyone got a RODENATOR to rent near Seattle?
