Does anyone know if moderators exist on the site any more? Of so, who are they and how to get in touch with them? As some of you may have noticed, there are more and more bots on site, plus more and more **** related posts. Today's posts in the 4th gen are pure ****. I report these posts, but apparently nobody reads them because nothing gets done to ban and delete the bad posts. Definitely not like the old days.

At the moment I am at an altitude of just over 8,000' in my little off grid cottage in the middle of nowhere. A bit cool this morning, but the welcome sun is just starting to shine and recharge my battery bank.
how do you get internet? Carrier?

Or sattelite?

Maybe I should post anti democrat posts, just to test your theory on no moderators.

No electrical grid in this area yet, so was forced to go solar almost 5 years ago. Have seen the power commission grid plans for extending the power lines up to my driveway, so it will arrive one day .... or should I say, one of these years. These plans are already about 3 years old.

Good morning diesel sniffers. Just made a fresh pot of coffee using some delicious fresh ground Mexican coffee. More cut up fruit in the fridge. Have often heard the health experts say to be healthy to eat the rainbow, so the cut up fruit I leave is exactly that. The large variety of fruit is quite colorful. Did in and enjoy.

Thanks Stan! Nice selection of colored fruit.

Happy Thanksgiving to the DTR'er who celebrate it.
NJT-man and his wife stopped by the other day to hang out in the shop with us while they where up in VT.

Yesterday was warm enough to melt some of the snow, so I took advantage of the warm weather and got a few things moved around. I got nonrev's old '92 W250 unhooked from my trailer and left the trailer in a spot where it can overwinter. Then I parked the W250 in the heated shop for the winter. Last nights rain switched over to some light snow early this morning, but the high for today, they are calling for is almost 40F.

Today I am working in the shop for the morning with the dogs. Then off to Thanksgiving a whole 20 minutes away with my girlfriend, her daughter and her husband, their kids and his parents and sister. On the way home we are going to stop off at the neighbors for some more snacks. I feel like I should be well fed today.

The weather looks like winter will be back in charge tomorrow and the rest of the month looks below freezing. Almost time to get the '91 W350 yard plow fired up for the season after having the summer off.

No turkey for me, there are nun in the stores this year. 22° cold bitter winds from the north with some gusts strong enough to shake the house. I now have two feral kittens hiding in the house. they bums rushed the door this morning. Not even they wanted to stay outside.

We just had a 6.0 earthquake 67 miles away on the Castle Mountain fault which we sit right on top of. The main shaking went on for over a minute knocking things about. The shaking continued for another 10 minutes. Even though this was smaller than the 7.2 2018 Medows lake quake, this time we are sitting on top of the fault line.

No reports of injuries or damage other than a few knickknacks bighting the dust. The winds have died down and a bit warmer in the upper 20°s. Red fox paid up a visit this AM. Probably after the neighbor's chickens. All my cats are accounted for. Get to try and find the owner of a stray pooch someone found.

Cougar, that is a shaky experience. Not for me. My wife was in Mexico City on Sept 19, 1985 and went through a 8.0 earthquake. Not fun! That earthquake resulted in more than 5,000 deaths. She was OK, but of course literally shaken up. One of our friends was on a staircase when this happened and had her legs trapped in the disintegrating cement stairs. Since that day she has been unable to walk.

I am fortunate in that even although I live only a 4 hour drive from earthquake prone Mexico City, this particular area is between earthquake zones, consequently so far we have not experienced even a tremor. I also live between mountains which means that we are free from hurricanes.

It looks like my attempt at reviving the breakroom is a flop. Not takers except for a couple of old timers, or is that old farts? Not one newby even tried to join the fun.

i resemble those remarks.

Turkey day was a beautiful ride back into civilization, if you want to call a bunch of wackos civilized. Fatman behaved himself for a change, pretty much all the way home

Avg 61.5 mph. Almost no traffic to speak of till i got 55 minutes from home, then it was bumper to bumper cars trying to push you into guardrails.

Safe in anti-paradise again.

I grew up along the California coast, so I was used to earthquakes and winds strong enough to snap off giant redwoods. South central AK isn't much different except the earthquakes are more frequent.

Wind is back. Fortunately, it's not that cold. Expecting snow today through tomorrow, maybe. Put the snowplow on yesterday and dug out the shovels and scrapers.
