Alright, here's a pic of the finished, glued together body.
Good morning everyone. What kind of glue is that? Is it some kind of epoxy type glue? Looks like real good stuff. Deck looks really good too BTW.

Warmed up and now trying to drop a few snow flakes here but should be a nice day.

Thanks! I don't know what the chemical properties of the glue are, but it's a 2 part thing. Takes a special caulking gun to put it down. It's made by Lord Adhesives in Chicago. Nice people to work with. Hopefully it'll hold up!

Oh good greif, the world is going to be glued together in 5 years...
Whats wrong with just WELDING steel, the way it was meant to be joined.
Im sorry, but I would FLIP out completely if I bought a truck bed or trailer and it was GLUED together. Atleast humor a fella like me and put a weld bead around your glue to hide it.

i think the purpose of the glue is to hold it together to do a mock-up of the bed or whatever is to be put together before it is welded.

It's permanent. Stitch welding is hard to keep from rusting out. A full weld doesn't let it expand and contract, so the panels bow out. The janitor didn't get hired as OUR janitor for being a dummy, can't help the social issues though...

HEY! WHAT social issues?

Don's right, it's permanent. Something new I'm trying. An Experiment. Y'know, like the internet. Prob'ly never catch on!

Horse trailer walls, roofs and some floors have been glued in place for years. And they're a real chore to get apart if you need to replace a panel for some reason. Now this company has developed a heavier duty glue rated for severe service, such as in a dump body, so I'm trying it to see if it's as tough as the lighter application glues. A continuous bead of glue all along the crossmember the floor plate lays on will stop any rust from forming as the glue takes up any gap. It also makes for a flatter looking floor plate as there's no stitch welds to heat up and deform it.

Afternoon is ready BTW.

'Social Issues'...

The best I can do is one broken down, grumpy old excuse for a janitor, but he brings his own brush.
