I had an urgent MRI on my right shoulder because it kept separating when I would extend it out front, above my head or behind me...even a little bit. The doc and I are working together for an expedited resolution. I see him on the 30th to discuss the results and/or surgery. The pain is crazy. The possibility of this shoulder being injured during the last surgery keeps coming up in conversations and speculations by medical professionals in my circle.
You know there's an old joke about a guy that went to the doctor and said doc I got my arm broke in 3 places. The doc replied well maybe you should stay out of those places. Sounds like you need to put your arm back in a sling.

About 20 yrs ago and before I met my wife, I decided I needed to do something to impress the ladies. I lived in Calgary at the time (not far from home now) so learning to 2 step seemed like a good idea. I took my 6 weeks of lessons and then during Stampede week I headed out to one of our best known country/tartlet bars. I was there with a half dozen of my best wingmen and some of their friends - some of the female persuasion. There was this one particularly attractive young lady, who seemed at least mildly interested in the enigma that is Sean. After a couple of hours and a half dozen beer, I finally worked up the courage to ask her to go dance with me. After a couple of dances we went back to socialize with our friends. After about 20 minutes do chatting, she started to make motions like she was going to leave. She even put on her silver leather coat. My buddies / wing men started prodding me 'Sean, say something, she is going to leave'. As I said, she had put on a silver leather coat. Remember, leather comes from cows. So, after a few hours of fretting about what to say to her and then finally getting her to have a couple of dances with me followed by kind of awkward silence for 20 minutes, here is what I came up with in order to try and impress her. Wait for it.......
Sean says, in all his beer befuddled glory 'I have never seen a silver cow before'.

I swear the entire thousand people in the bar went dead silent as she spun on her attractive high heeled cowgirl boots and headed for the parking lot. She was in a taxi before my buddies jaws hit the floor.
So tell me again why you spent the money on dance lessons if you still were gonna talk?

Morning folks!

FiverBob - that isn't funny at all. the farmers around here tell me you just lace your boots up tighter and get on with things. Then again, they are WAY tougher than me.

My bad news doesn't even come close to comparing but I am still feeling sorry for myself. There is a nasty weather system on the way from Montana and we are under our first snowfall warning of the year. Are you kidding me - it isn't even Halloween yet!!!!! The roads were bad today and it looks like tomorrow is going to be even worse. I guess I was pretty smart to get my new snow tires put on 2 weeks ago....

Yeah, me too Bob. 'Course, if I come down for a couple days, you'll have me for the winter. Weigh your options carefully before you answer!

A canadian I used to work with broke his ankle the first day of his tour offshore. he kept it splinted for with a 1-1/2" combo wrench and duct tape and just laced his boots a bit tighter. He didn't have to spend much time on his feet.

My daughter broke her foot a year or so ago, she hobbled around for a week before seeing the walk in clinic and all they did was xray it, charger her $200 after insurance, and told her to buy a boot.

btw, nutella and celery don't go together very well....

Sometime I suffer from the same malady Bob.

Sorry to hear about the ankle Bob but maybe the slowdown is for "other" reasons. Keep your ears and heart open, you could get a message at any time.

If I ever have to go down that road again my approach will be to run the other way.

Evening folks.

Yesterday:... I got a late start, cleaning out the barn and pens, On about my 5th bucket load of manure, I was scooping another load up when I noticed the front wheels don't quite look right... checked under the tractor and found three of the four bolts that hold the front axle on are missing and the front drive shaft snapped in two. No jack that can support this thing, so I raised it a bit with the loader. Manged to get another bolt in without dropping a 90 HP Belarus tractor on my head, enough to hold the axle in place while I drove to the barn and parked it till I can get it fixed...
This is after finding a flat tire on the little tractor, and both tires on the tank-sprayer flat...
I quit... not a good day for working on stuff..

Today: Bobby broke his ankle.... guess my Sunday wasnt so bad..
have your phoo and relax, watch the surf, and try not to let eh Mrs catch you watching the bikinis( you may get more broken..)

Chris, I had that kind of day on my IH 350 Utility back in the spring. Old tractors are fun but they do get their pound (or ton) of flesh out of us in the maintenance dept every once in a while.

I just took the dog out for his last trip before bed - he is old and small and the 'yotes are getting aggressive so he gets a human escort. It would appear that the weather office was correct for a change. We are getting buried under wet snow. If the wind holds off we will be fine. If it gets windy, this is going to be an exciting late autumn snow fall. You darn 'Merkins, this thing started in Montana....

Sorry to read about your friend and his hardships.
I hope everyone has a great week and as my wife told me..."Scotty keep your chins up."
I thought of you when I was hobbling out of the clinic. I have NEVER even played with crutches before - - don't know why, just didn't. I have a whole new respect for those that are good on them. And I am all ready black and blue under my arm pits. Doc says put the weight on your wrists. .........OK, we'll try that. There ain't no way this kid is ever going to catch up with you on carcass abuse. I am too much of a baby. ......

That has been my thinking. Why? What is it for? What am I missing? What can I do that I would not do if I were up and running? I am looking and listening. Several thoughts and ideas have come, but nothing concrete yet. Guess I better pray a little harder about it - - and clean out my ears.

OK, grabbing a ph00 refill and out of here. My butt is all ready sore - - what do you do about that? GRRR. Oh yeh, more ph00!!!.......
