Active duty Navy Seabee EO 88-94. Best lesson I learned there still sticks with me...you don't always have to like what you are doing, sometimes you just have to shut up and get it done. CAN DO!

Former USAF from 83 to 89 and three year stint in the guard. I should have gotten out after the first 4 year enlistment. The guard was a joke. Do not get me wrong - I enjoyed my first assignment and enlistment and wanted to stay in for 20.
However, bad commanders and first sergeants at my second assignment that kissed butt were too much for me. In addition, the retirees were kicking off dead because they could not handle the pressure of the real world. So I made the best decision ever by getting out - honorably.
