I wore a lot of different boots over the years and was always wearing them out and having to break them in. Most of the guys at work told me to buy some Red Wings. I finally broke down about 8 years ago and bought some steel toed slip on's. They lasted about a year and a half before the toe wore out. I still wear them at home around the yard. They are the only steel toed boots that I have ever worn that don't make my toe's sore by the end of the day from the steel toe pinching them. I have a wide foot and even though I tried Wolverines and many other brands in wide. The toe didn't seem any wider. The second pair of Red Wings I bought, I put the toe guard on. I still wear them, sometimes, at work (Mechanic Offshore Oil Industry) when I know I am going to be in standing oil for long period's(Cargo Tank Entry's). The 3rd pair (2 years old) is what I wear daily. 12-14 hrs a day 28 days at a stretch. They have always been comfortable from the first time I put them on and they just get better with age. If they will fit your feet, the Wolverine's would be my second choice. I know a lot of guys that love them too. I pay $125 a pair for my Red Wing's. We get a very serious company discount, because of the volume of people we have buying from one dealer.

Here's some others I'm eyeing... They're $132 - lots less than $225-$250 you guys have been mentioning....

Thumbs up

We get a $100 boot allowance every year and in the 14 yrs I have been here I have tried alot of different steel toe boots. Justins, wolverines, lehie, Dr Martins (twice), Cats., And I always go back to the best boot ever. Redwing Pecos. They are hard to break in but when you finally do they feel like a tennis shoe and you can't wear them out in a year. I finally quit trying other boots and haven't bought anything else in the last 6 years. Hell they last so long that I think I have 3 brand new pairs in the boxes in the closet still. But with them offering $100 free dollars ya just gotta spend it weather ya need em or not

i would stick with my rockys, had them for about 2 years now and the only thing to break on them is the laces. but i also have a pair of packers that i have had for about 4 years and they are still going stong, the only thing wrong with those is i torn the leather on the side starting my dirt bike, should have put those boots on. but anyway i would say rockys, i'd put up a pic but i'm retarded and don't know how to.
