Question BOMBing a HEMI

I have a bud that I TRIED to get to buy a new CTD 600......but nooooooo...... he had to go buy a HEMI instead. He now has asked me if there are any available chips or computer upgrades available to hype his hemi. I told him that I would place this question in here to get the straight poop from the people that know..... I do not want to go peruse a hemi site, because 1. I do not own one and 2. I don't care to own one. You input is greatly appreciated in advance...

Thanks,

Gary

I don't think you can, in good conscience, use the word B.O.M.B and HEMI in the same sentence.

If Scotty wasn't enroute to Vegas, he'd come over and flip you like so many Yugo's.

Dodgetrucks.org is a good place to start.
Not specifically geared to any specific engine, just Dodge trucks in general.

In the latest edition of Four Wheeler, they had a couple of cat back exhausts and a couple of turbo systems for the Hemi. I haven't seen any chips out, but I haven't been looking.

You could also try posting the question HERE
It seems to be a good site for the gasser folks and they even have one section for the diesels too.

A blower pushing 8 psi through an intercooler, a cat back exhaust, and a tune will net him ~550 rwhp. If not, a cold air intake, a throttle body spacer, a set of longtube headers, some high flow cats, a cat back, and a hypertech programmer. That should be a nice gain.

Thank you everyone for the quick response. I think that he will have enough reading with all of this info to keep him out of my hair for a couple of nights. BB, the blower idea sounds cool to me cause I helped another friend ram air and supercharge his 89 chebby 1/2 ton. Man that thing would scream when we finished that project. Bad thing about that truck was that his wifey got pregnant and he could no longer afford to keep rear tires on it and keep baby in new shoes too....Truck lost.

Again everyone...A BIG THANKS!!!!

The blower is offered by Kenne Bell. It's a roots style. I've only seen it on a 2500 hemi but I don't think there should be any difference (other than the 1500 being lighter and thus faster).

Yeah...nice gain for gas guzzling power! From about 10 mpg stock down to 6 mpg worth?

This guy has deeeeeep pockets. He owns a mortgage company and manages retirement plans for CONESCO. He is the kind of guy who spends 20K a year for deer leases and then goes to Alaska to hunt bear. I do not think that he is worried about fuel mileage or what it costs to make the truck HOTTER than it already is. This truck is his "toy" project for the time being.

Now I on the other hand is a penny pinching tightwad from the word go. Although it is fun to help him spend HIS money.......

THAT'S THE TRUCK!!!!

Scuzman, if that's the case, then have him pull the motor out, full forge it, port the heads, new cam, and twin turbo the ever living crap out of it. Throw a 3200 stall converter in an Art Carr tranny, some 3.73's in the back. That should net him some REALLY nice gains.
