Smile Blowguns

Just bought one yesterday. Has a 30" barrel, .40 cal. Set et a 2" thick styrofoam target against my garage door. I took my first shot and hit the target and was very suprised how powerful they can be. The dart penetrated the foam target and hit the metal door with a nice loud ding. I have a new found respect for these things.

Anyone else mess around with a blowgun?

I have one from South America and it is fun to play with, but unless you use poison on the tip like the native do, your 45 cal is better.

I havem't messed with a blow gun, only a spud gun. made from pvc pipe and use hair spray with an igniter. Blows them spuds a long way!!!! . I used some oxygen and accetelyne and found the spuds about 1000 feet away!!! We had a lot of fun with that, but it made the wife mad cause she didn't have enough potatoes left for dinner. Make sure you use schedule 80 pvc for the chamber, schedule 40 doesn't hold up well with higher fuel mixtures.

As far as the tater guns...... air compressors and sprinkler valves work great...... got a mini air cannon that will launch 3/4" rocks about 200 yds easy..... and very rapidly

rocks aint as much fun as spuds. lets face it, when you overcharge the fuel to the spud gun and light her off, you can watch the trail thru the air, and when you find the smokin spud on the other end of the field, you can eat it. Try that with a rock!!!
The other good thing about a spud gun vs rock gun, is when the neighbor calls the cops cause he got bombed, the cop will be rolling on the ground over flamin spuds but not rocks.

The champion of Punkin Chunkin was a pipefitter . Thats how the whole thing got started . A bunch of bored Union Pipefitters put thier skills together and thats what they came up with , Launching pumpkins into a field out of a cannon LoL The champion ( Trey was his name ) died a few years ago but i think his freinds still shoot the cannon at events . Either way he was a good guy and i'm glad i got the chance to work with him while he was alive .
