Your truck looks like our '05... needs 1/2" longer control arms!

So has anyone done the research for the best price for the KM2's. I am in So CA, but have been looking for internet deals. I saw then on ebay for $925 with free shipping. The local Costco can not order the lager sizs in the KM2's yet? I actaully saw on the BFG site that Wal Mart is a dealer (will be calling them this week). Any links with prices would be appreciated.

Hey for anyone out there that was curious; I answered my own question with some research. I found another Costco that was close that could get the tires. I ordered the 285x70x17 for $214 each. Since they are over 3% larger than the stock tire, they will not mount them, but they knock off $10/ tire because of that, which drops them down to $204. Costco is the cheapest by far.

I know this is an old thread, but how are the tires holding up now that some of you have gotten some more miles on them? How is the ride and noise? Thanks.

I'm running a 305 on my truck and love em. They stick very well on wet pavement, they float well aired down in soft sand. They are a touch more quiet on the highway than the older style of BFG mud t/a, tread seems to be wearing well and even, tires are rotated every 5000, have about 10000 on them now and still look new. No reports on snow YET, and I don't see much in the way of mud. And I have one plug in the tread from a screw, still holding air no problem....

Cool. I am thinking of getting the KM2's in the 285/70/17 size so I do not lose as much power and MPG's. Think this size will look ok?

Jamesbfishin,

If driving on the highway for a few hours, would the tires get annoying with noise or is it bearable? Any problems with the truck tracking down the road or pulling to one side or the other?

On a stock truck they should look fine, the 305/65/17 isn't taller than that just a bit wider which is what I wanted for floatation on the beaches here

285/70/17 calculates out to be a 32.7x11.2
305/65/17 is 32.6x12 but the added width creates more rolling resistance.

Personally I like loud diesels and tire hum so I'm not the best gauge for how quiet a tire should be, but it doesn't bother me one bit. The truck doesn't pull one way or the other, tracks straight. Only difference, with the added width, on an older highway that's developed tracks from big rig use, changing lanes the truck wants to stay in the tire ruts so it takes a little more effort to get it over.

Thanks. Now I just have to see where I can get a good deal on the tires. I am thinking of going to Discount Tire to see what its going to cost.

I started this thread........ Mine now have over 25K miles on them. Here are the latest pics I have with them and the truck just so happens to have 4K lbs in the bed. Definately overweight for these tire ratings. That is really my only complaint about the tires is the puny 3K lb load rating. I may have to switch to Toyo next time just for the higher ratings. But the tires are holding up well, very even wear, and give great traction in all conditions..and pretty low tire hum in my opinion. I should get 50K at least out of them! They are less than half worn.

Nice, you need to wash that truck, LOL.

I have since put them on my jeep, they are doing great there.

Discount tire has done me well in the pricing arena on these tires, and all 3 sets of tires I have purchased in the past 2 years.

Yeah it's pretty filthy there. Please reference the photo gallery for cleaner pics...

I try to do business with Discount Tire whenever I can. They rotate the tires for free and fix flats (not that I have had any lately) for free as well. Last time they even balanced the tires for free too. They are always competitive with a little haggling. They do what they do very well, imo.
