I thought you solved that crowded water tank problem every time you flushed the handle on it

I got about 6 Beta SP decks behind me.

Not sure if they play Betamax though.

I bought one of those Sony betamax's when they came out.....Had the option to buy it or that other new thing the VHS. Being smarter than the average bear I went for the betamax because the tape was smaller than the VHS, so I figured it would be the one to stay in the market........

Got to buy a new VHS a year or two later too, thanks to my dazzling ability to see in to the future

I hate being young... I miss out on all of the good jokes...
(Ironically, all my good music is still on vinyl let I fail to have ever seen a Beta or an 8-Track...)

Phox,

From my days in the video tape production house I do not recall Beta SP machines having the ability to play the old Betamax. The place I worked (Reproduction Department Head, I was) had a racked Betamax we could patch in to the panel and dub over to any other format.

I watched entirely too many hours of video back in those days.

The title was the best thing about the job - kind of a joke around the shop.

That's what I thought.
Been a while since I layed eyes on a Betamax cassette,
but I remember the reels being closer together than standard Broadcast Beta.

We used to have a video tape reproduction house next door to the station (TV Station), had to pay them a visit once to get a PAL video transferred to NTSC, never saw so many VCR's running in one place at one time.

Wouldn't be surprised if they still had a couple Betamax players lying around for the occasion VHS transfer.

There is, as far as I know, Betacam (Betacam Digital, Betacam SX, and Betacam SP), Betamax..... Betamax and the Betacam formats cannot be used with each other. Some of the Betacam tapes can be used on Betamax decks. This is not a format that I have ever done much with..... I like DVCAM better....

That said, I have UMATIC, SVHS, MiniDV, DV, DVCAM, and DVCPRO capabilities.... no Betacam formats.....
