At the trail ride dances they always played a song talking about "Stars on the water" never have figured out who sings it.
Also that tribute song played before the Houston Livestock and Rodeo begins and or ends.....
Oh yeah I grew up in Baytown so I know alittle about Texas

Don't forget The playboys classic "When you leave Amarillo, turn out the lights..."
Suprised no-one has mentioned Kevin Fowler.

That's what I was thinking. I used that title one day, I was at a roping and things did not work well my way so the group I was hanging with I told,"There was a song many years ago, it was called Happiness is Lubbock, Texas in the Rear View Mirror, I'm about to go test that."

DTR's Night Watchman & Poet Laureate
By Mac Davis....
I thought happiness
Was Lubbock, Texas
In my rear view mirror
My momma kept calling me home
But I just did not want to hear her
And the vision was getting clearer
In my dreams
Was Lubbock, Texas

My momma kept calling me home
But I just did not want to hear her
And the vision was getting clearer
In my dreams

Did we miss Ed Burleson or did somebody already get him on here. Great traditional sound, none of the rock and roll/pop rock generic shopping center radio country from him. I cant stand new country! Long Live Texas Singer/Songwriters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
