Just wanted to pass along a few points I did not know. I was given a class from 27 year exp. EMT today.

1.) When looking for breath on a woman, look at there chest for 5-10 sec.
2.) When looking for breath on a man, look at the belly for 5-10 sec.

3.) If you are doing CPR properly, the victims body will turn pink if you are doing it properly. Correct depth of compressions and correct speed (100-120 per min.) If you are not right on, the body will be blue. So adjust if you see this.

4.) If you have an EDT, don't turn it on until you hook up the pads on the victim. It will only take 15 sec. to start working once powered up.

I had one class that was great with a knowledgeable instructor and my latest certification class was a joke. We asked a few questions and the response was laughable. I won't go into details but I bet i could have given the class better!

 

Oh, by the way, If you see a beautiful woman and watch her breathing. If you can see her belly go in and out with each breath, It's not a woman....LOL
