Same gun I have too. The 870 Express Magnum. I have never shot a Benelli though, I would like to.

I hear that HOSS, I like the copper solids coupled withthe 1.5 - 9 big ole light gathering scope I have on mine, I just wish remmington would settle down on changing the slug so often...... Nice gun timber, You one of them guys that pounde pointed 2x4 's into the bay bottom and then start building a blind? man they are a thing of beauty some of them, too bad the ice takes em away........

Mine is the all-black finish also, and I havent seen any surface rust on it. BUT, I do wipe it off every day I use it, and do not leave it in a case for very long unless I am transporting it.

Never heard of the screws rusting in the recoil pad, then again, I've never had to take mine off. We put ours through hard crap in the Currituck Sound duck hunting.

Wellllll, I do have one blind that we built on my buddy's farm. I dare some ice to take that one. Used 4x12 creosote bridge planks for the floor, plywood sides, tin roof. Brushed it up with several holly trees. The floor measures 10' x 12'. Got a propane stove & heater in it, we make coffee and cook up eggs & bacon sometimes. It's fun to hunt out of, we save it for when it's really nasty out. Rest of the time I either just stash the boat & hide in the marsh, or take a small creek boat, brush it up and lay down in it. Do a lot better that way, ducks know what a blind is, but if all of a sudden there's just some guy who pops up out of the marsh and lays the smack down there's nothing for them to see or get used to. Plus, it's too much work building all those blinds & brushing them every year! And The Man will know where you are too.

Oh yes, the .45-70 is for deer. There's no such thing as too much gun. I'd hunt em with a scud missle if I had one. No blood trails that way, just break them down in a pile. I don't use the shoulders anyway, just hind quarters, back straps & neck. It's always nice to see a bullet hole big enough to throw a cat through.

Beretta uses the same style of cycling with the semi autos. They too can run all types of shells without any problems or adjustments. After all Beretta OWNS Benelli.

I have a Benelli M1 Super90 with pistol grip and surefire front grip in addition to various others I own.
Best $1000.00 I have ever spent and the best one I have owned so far.
Only problem you cannot use cheap or weak loads it will cause it not to cycle.

I have fired 250 rounds through it in 3 hours and it never jammed or misfired.

A friend of mine in College had a couple Benellis and HK pistols. I thought Benelli was owned by HK once upon a time? Anyhow, I think he had a Super 90X, or something like that.

Anyway, I found out what all the fuss was about. Shoot one and you will, too.

Built like a dang Rolex and just feels perfect.

You know, I think at one time HK had Benelli and Beretta, but I'm not sure. Hohn put it right, it is like a rolex. Just a light gun that shoots smooth.

Jim Lane, you might want to check your springs in the gun if it will not shoot light loads. My stepdad uses his M1 Super 90 with all kinds of loads ranging from light dove loads to heavy goose loads, and it doesnt fail to eject the shell.

If anybody likes pump shotguns, Benelli's Nova shotgun works well, and is around $300 the last time I checked. A couple of my friends have them, and they love them. They look a little wierd, but shoot good, and feel good against your shoulder.

I second that! I own a Nova & it's the best gun I've ever owned. Benelli also
has a Super Nova! It's got the same recoil reducing gel in the stock that the
SBEII has & it looks like they've changed the trigger guard as well. I've
already let the Boss know what a wonderful b-day present it would make & it
will only cost $400!!
