Talking BEHOLD, The Almighty Cummins

What do you guys think of this load?

http://www.mayerfarmequipment.com/Stores/chris.html

I think I'm a little over the GVW on the trailer.!!

Estimated Weight:
Dodge Truck--- 7500 lbs
Corn-Pro Trailer--- 3500 lbs
Gleaner K Combine--- 8500 lbs
Gleaner 2-Row Cornhead--- 2000 lbs

Total on Dodge and 14,000 GVW trailer:
21,500 lbs

AND, I hauled it 150 mi up the interstate no problems, Max EGT's were 1100 at 30 psi and 68 mph. I think thats pretty good for what it is.

I think we should have hauled it on this, and I go to get that load from Georgia.

Hate to burst your bubble but let us know when you are going to put a load on it. The link below shows mine at just under 26000 pounds. Pulled that almost 250 miles. A friend of mine pulled 32500 home to Virginia from Tennessee. Nice looking truck you got there too.

Oh, I know it looks heavier than it is, I've been much heavier. Best I've ever done is 38,000 Gross home from Louisville, and I have the bent GN plate in my truck to prove that one. My truck, 32Ft 24K GN, 15ft Batwing Bush-hog, and 115 HP Tractor w\full weights and fluid.

Dad also scaled 38,000 once in his old Dodge\Cummins with a 28ft GN hauling parts and cultivator wings from a closed machinery factory.

Once again, all is well as long as there is that trailer behind you.

Oh Yeah, I also had 6 antiques on that 32 footer once

I don't like to pull that much weight very often. The truck and the trailer will handle it alright but it's the others on the road that like to do stupid stuff like look you in the eye and pull out in front of you anyway. I try to pull one tractor at a time and stay around 20 to 21000 pounds.. The DMV won't let me liscense it for more than 20000 here in Virginia.

That monster looks impressive behind that little truck for sure, just be careful out there.

At 50,000 lbs, is it time for a triple axle trailer?

I'm not so sure that I'd be bragging about being 15,000 lbs overweight (assuming your GCVRW is 23,000 lbs like mine is).

What? No one yet mentions those infamous SAFETY CHAINS that may or may not be attached to the GN in question?

Hey Hoss, I'm from Ohio!

I'll brag about anything I can live through!
(That's what we do best.)

Besides, I only had to use 3rd Gear once with that load

Anyway, I'm like DD4x4, and I don't like to pull that heavy all the time.
I'm fine with it, but other people scare the heck out of me, and so do my Dodge brakes.

Just thought you guys would enjoy seeing one of the WIERD loads from Northern Redneck Country.

Back in carolina I left the sand pit once weighing 32,500. I was pulling my 8'x16' 10 ton Big tex dump trailer. Took the back roads home and met a NC DMV . I was for sure I would get busted but I didn't.

I don't think they make safety chains rated for 50,500 lbs.

I think if you look real close up by the hitch in my pics, you may be able to see those "safety" chains!!

Why do GN's have them, but Semi's hauling 40k don't?
I've seen old junk trucks with hitch's falling aprt on them.

Oops, better not say too much, the DOT will start looking for me !

Sure they do... They use'm to keep Air Craft Carriers in the same spot. Two or three links should do it. Nat
