This hurts my head, Stan. Just too much. Differential equations are a lot more simple.

[quote author=Mexstan link=board=10;threadid=20547;start=0#msg192991 date=1065361252]If an airplane full of canaries is over gross weight to allow a safe takeoff, and the crew forces half the canaries to fly while doing the takeoff, will that decrease the gross weight of the airplane?

No. It will stay the same.

No. It will stay the same.
Re:Been wondering about things
Haulin is right. There is no weight change in the airplane.
Kind of like the falling elavator theory - if I jump right before it hits bottom, will it lessen the severity of the impact?

Now the elevator thing is a different story. Not sure how that would play out as you are moving at the same speed as the elevator. On the old train setups where a brakeman rode on top of the cars when hooking up they were taught to jump up when the car hit the hitch. I was brought up by my grandparents and my grandfather used to talk about that. He was an interesting man, way back he used a Model A to truck melons from Long Island to upstate New York in the finger lakes region. He had a bunch of pictures of those trips. Oh well, he met my Grandmother and stayed in Binghamton. That would have been around 1920's. By 1926 he was well established in Binghamton.

;D

Probably a better description would be "melon head"

Re:Been wondering about things
Had no idea we had started the marathon thread but just to try and get the last word in. Not mine and don't claim them to be but here goes. Why do you park on a driveway? Why do golf ***** have dimples, how many, and why? Why do we call it an easy chair when it's hard as heck to get out of? Why do they call it a sleeper sofa when thats the last thing you can do with that bar in your back? Why is the 13th floor missing? WHy do we them paydays when we should be calling them bill days? Sorry but this is making my pee brain hurt alttle so I'll quit now.
