I have Owned Mopars for many years & recently had an electrical Probem? as I serviced my Dodge pick Up & it would Not Start? NO juice to coil? or fuel pump? & seeing its an older model I thought? I*D remove all the Electrical Sencers & have our local Mopar Dealer check them Out! I arrived w/ all my trucks sencers & Guess? What? MOPAR has NO way of Checking Them! Not our local Dealer any way! so in discuss! I went from auto parts store to auto parts Store! & still NO one could Help me! MOPAR dealer couldn*t even identify my Computer? --very discouraged!!--when around 9 PM I received a phone Call!--an Ole auto parts counter man had heard of my Problem--He operates an Ole auto parts Store a Bit run Down & kinda Messy by modern standards!--NOT the nice Pretty auto parts stores We all SEE w/ every thing all arranged in Nice neat rows--as to ME his Store looked like most of our personal Garages!--w/ arts & pieces piled here & there! Well I took my STUFF? to HIM & He looked it all over!--his QUOTE!--give me a couple of Days! & I*LL See what? I can DO??--three days Passed!-& My Phone Rang Again!--I have all your Parts!--I arrived! & He checked all my Ole Stuff--{Electrically}--& All the New Also! YEP! their ALL the Excat same things!--Here You Go!--Take E*M Home & try E*M--& bring Back what YOU don*t Need!--NOTE--most Auto parts Stores!! DON*T just had YOU a dozen or more Electrical Parts & Tell YOU to GO Home & Try them!-- as HERE! {ANY} electrical Part once installed --is YOURS!--NO Returning anything!--& get This!-NO Money was exchanged nor Asked For!--Well after many hours of testing this Part & that--from the Main Computer to all the Sencers & New Plugs--Distrubtor-cap & rotor-& wires--Ignition Switch ECT--WALAH!! She Purred like New!--So I didn*t return Any Thing! I was Happy to PAY my BILL--as this Ole Guy really is the Parts MAN--& He gave ME a Discount I couldn*t Believe??--the BEAT Deal I have Gotten in a very Long TIME! about 1/2 of what I was Quoted by all the Fancy Stores!--Bottom LINE!--all those Modern Fancy Auto Parts Stores are PARKING LOTS! to Me Now! as I*LL never BUY anything from NONE of them Again!--Special NOTE!--the MOPAR Dealer coudn*t even Identify my Computer?--& so they said? they couldn*t check any thing??--& Get THIS!! I inquired as to How? they Fix al the NEW MOPARS?--WE replace Parts hopeing it solves the Problem?--GEE! thats NICE! Huh?--as Personally I Don*t think So!--as I can NOT even IMAGINE?? any Vehicle Manufactuer Building any Computerized Vehicle they Can NOT Re-Pair? & from What I hear! None Can!--So to all YOU GUYS w/ New Veicles what ever Make??--as when the Warrantees Gone?--Good LUCK?--Ole JIM--
It is hard to tell because i dont know what vehicle you have but most often bad sensors are diagnosed by obd or obdII. They are not trained to test the individual sensor, only to hook up to the vehicle and diagnose it by computer logs and sensor inputs and symptoms. As for your parts man, sounds like an awesome guy...glad you found him, but you can't realistically expect a company to hand you parts for no money and trust you to bring em back.
HAHAHA...and try to get them to add a spell checker to the forum....lol. Don't take us seriously though just messing with ya. True that he did do what the dealer said they would do, but the dealer would not have only charged labor but they would charge for every part they replaced...bad or not. Plus not to mention outrageous markup. However, that dealership is severely messed up, they do not work that way, well to an extent. They use all available info to make an educated guess at the problem if they cannot identify the exact reason. Also, you have to remember that just because a tech works at a dealership does not mean they are professionals. They are "professionals".
