That reminds me of the SAE areo design aircraft I worked on in college. Sent the poor thing right through a tree in florida with about 22lbs of lead plates on board. What a mess that made. Too bad for the B52, it looked really well constructed.

I fly RC and have learned that most all RC air craft meet their demise that way. I have only had one that didnt end its life in a crash. The fire wall did however break out of it in flight but the plane was so old I decided not to fix it. I wish I could get some of my videos off VHS and on to the net, I have one very good one where a project SPAD missed my truck by inches. All you could see in the video was me jumping between the incoming plane and my truck to stop the accident that was sure to happen. God know what it would have done to me, but it was like a parental instinct, protect my baby. It nosed down and missed my truck by inches at the last second!! Caught it all on video. Rather comical I must say!

I saw about a yr ago , loaded on my laptop for future watching , a yr later my laptop chrashed .
I've looking into the jet engines ever since , that plane has to cost more than a new truck , I found there web site , 8 engines , cheapest I've found were $3,500 - 4,000 each , then you still have to build the plane , 7 guys were involved in building it .

I too build and fly. Giant scale warbirds. I had a 94 inch Corsair for 13 years before I sold . The log book was 2 inches thick!!. We now have a 96 inch P-51 with a 5.8 in it and a 118 inch B-25 on the bench. Hopefully done inthe spring. We haven't got to the jets ....yet. You don't fit into the group with just one jet. You need at least 3. one for sport and two warbirds. Preferably a twin like an F-18. Then you need a diesel truck to haul the 44 foot trailer (already have those). At the local field there usuall are at least half a dozen jets on the weekend. One guy regularly burns 10 gallons of kerosene. The planes hold a gallon so that's only about 10 flights spread over 3-4 planes.

Still a lot cheaper sport than drag racing.
