ATTN: Varmint Humters
Id say get a .50 Cal MG and mount it in the back of that truck you got. Shoot 2-3 of them varmin and the rest will get the picture, and you will have a cool gun to have just to remind them
all are good, depends on how far you tend to shoot. had a buddy that used a 30-06 accellerator, it was loud
and fast. i donot know if it is made anymore. he also used to handload 6mm and 7mm benchrest rounds for his xp100, i think thats what it was, like a thompson center contender but by remingtion? he had a rifle coustom made for the 6mm bench rest round. **** that thing was accurate......

For the smaller varmints like rabbits, coons, and possums, I would go for the 17 HMR. Its a high velocity shell, and pretty darn accurate. For anything bigger like bobcat or coyotes, the way to go would be a 22 Hornet or a .223.

Have you thought about a .243? Gives you a little bit of flexibility in bullet weight, and you can load them pretty hot. Kills deer just fine with 100 grain jhp's, and you can really send some lighter bullets at phenomenal speeds. I've got a ton of varmint rifles, the heavy barrel rem. 700 .243 is one of my favorites, have killed a lot of crows around 400 yards with it. Some deer too.
