Apprentice looking for stay in the US or Canada

Hi folks!

A car dealer I work with a lot asked me to look around for possibilities to get his son to work in the USA or Canada for 6 months. Thomas is 18 years old and is currently an apprentice mechanic. He works for his father in a Citroen shop, has some decent work qualities and is accustomed to working in an ISO9001 quality assurance environment. The main goal for him is to improve his english and to learn about other methods of work and about different vehicles.
His english is not too bad, he has already spent some months in England.
Since this would be a stay that can be considered as educational his father is prepared to compensate for the efforts of the company that will provide this possibility for Thomas within a reasonable budget. The company should also provide a room and somebody who will help Thomas until he is "acclimatised".
The ideal profile of a company would be a high quality shop for several brands of cars and trucks or a high quality performance company.

If you have questions, suggestions or comments please reply here or PM me.

Thanks in advance!

Well, not too much of a resonance over here

If we can't find a garage or shop for him to work, maybe there are some college classes or something the like where we could put him. ???

A big point of interest is the automatic transmission.

Any help ?

TIA
