anyone regret going from 12v to 3rd gen?

been romancing getting a new truck, and I went and test drove a few today... they were nice and all, but were definately lacking in soul compared to the old 12v noise maker

I could still keep the 12v, but I don't know if I could live with myself having that much money tied up in a couple pickups

Keep your 12 valve Forrest.

You don't want one of those wimpy sounding, no smoke blowing, 3rd gens that only make a measly 450+ hp with a downloader.

you seem to be glossing over the whole $35k buy-in on the truck!!! and they are wimpy sounding! I heard a 3rd gen 6p w/ stacks yesterday, and it sounded like a flock of geese farting!

well, it'll be a while, we're going to try to get into a house first I think... don't want to jack up the D/I ratio right now

Even if I was offered $30,000 for my old truck I would not sell it. This might seem outrageous to some, but I like what I have and what I have done to it. I know I would always be saying to my self I used to have a ........

yeah, I looked for a long time for this truck, and I love it... but I really think a long bed will make life a lot easier, and I just found out if I buy a new truck, they pay ALL maintanence on it for 4yrs on top of paying the note!

this might be a two truck household pretty soon

well, it is in a 4x4 Dodge after all

I push mine a little harder than some people do, so if I do have an engine-related failure, it'll probably be pretty bad... but, then again, when a 12v dies, it usually does so slowly and lets you know it's on its way out.

the HRD 11 sec single cab has had water in the oil for 6 months now! it starts like an old yard tractor belching white smoke, but it still runs like a scalded dog!!!
