Anyone notice a missing thread?

I thought there was a thread about ATS and a blown tranny the other day (or yesterday). Did it get deleted? If it did, I wonder how it happened? hmmm....

Careful now...

97% of the time, they can pull a quote out of the agreement we ALL agree upon to use this site that proves they were only upholding the site rules.

Careful of what?

It seems like a "handy" way of sensoring. Rather than "hey, knock it off" and locking the thread, it's totally gone. It just seems odd to me. Especially well the post was about a story on TDR. Both side were represented and people get to decide what they want.

I think that decision was made in the best interest of the DTR...which I support.

Bashing can be considered slander in the courtroom...

I hate to see bashing posts, even if both sides ARE being represented. If you have the kind of problems that were being discussed in that post, your best choice is to either go out of your way to get together and solve the problem OR get a lawyer. This is not Judge Judy or INTERNET COURT, stuff like that does not belong.

So, maybe the thread has been removed, but it certainly is not something I am missing. Maybe it found it's way over to the Politics Forum???

I think it's good info to know, and isn't that the whole reason we log onto this site, for information and to help each other w/ purchasing decisions? I saw the thread and I agree there was a valid complaint. JMO

And by the way, I had an issue w/ a HUGE boat Manufacturer, and until I posted about the issue and results on a boating forum, they didn't take me seriously. That forum just so happened to be monitored by the President of the Boat Co. and he personally contacted me and had my issues taken care of. TRUE STORY!

I didn`t start the thread , but posted about my issues with ATS...I didn`t think it was "bashing" , just teliing my story of what happened to me and my ride. I always like input from others...good OR bad.

Guess from now on , I`ll only post when GOOD things happen to me.

Forums like this is to help people with info and keep other people and companies honest. If a story can't be mentioned without commenting on the story or events, then what is the purpose of the forum.

Hey Bob.... How are you doing? Any luck with parts you put on your truck. I'm not going to say who's parts you put on.

No John, I had problems. I'm not going to say who's parts I had problems with though.

There is no need to coddle and protect everyone (i.e. well established companies that should be doing their job because they have the money to do it).

Hey chrleb1.

I did not say that I would not like to know about stuff, good or bad, I merely commented that it was getting into the bashing side and it is the bashing part I don't think is needed.

I recently bought a new intake product for my truck after hearing all the good stuff about it. Their website was put together with pics, the unit looked great, so I bought it. When it finally arrived and I took it out of the box the first thing I noticed was that it's quality was not quite what their site reflected, very poor workmanship in it's finishing. If I see someone posting about this product, I will then tell them about the quality of mine. They can choose to buy or not to buy. Notice I am not bashing? Just stating the facts. I like to see facts stated just as openly as I have in the above comment. When it becomes bashing you can see/hear the tone changing.

We have lots and lots of good vendors who value their reputations and have great products. Many of them monitor this site along with many other sites. I guess if they don't want to SEE THEIR NAME in NEGATIVES they should take care of their consumers up front so nothing but great stuff is written about them. If it takes a few comments on a website to stir them into correcting their product or correcting the way they do business, truth is, maybe they should consider doing something else because the biggest part of business is customer relations, if you can't get that right you won't be in business very long anyway, even with one of the best products on the market.

I would agree. No bashing, but if there is a problem with any product is should be talked about, and I feel it IS here when done tastefully. When it gets to bashing the facts get tossed aside and things head in a downward spiral fast. I read the original post and thought it was anything but tactful. Agreed, advertisor or not, there should be open discussion about ANY product, but.......it's not my website either! I know this and accept it and continue to came back because I like the way the owners run it.

Sometimes negative reports soon turn into bashing.. I was screwed by a vendor building me twins. It was supposed to take two weeks, and it took over 6 months. During that time period I demanded my money back, though he said he had already spent it. I never posted about my experience. Needless to say, someone posted about this particular vendor doing something similar to him. It made me wish that I had posted my experience everywhere.. Maybe less people would have went through it.. I've now heard of several with a similar experience with that vendor. The forums are the place to let problems with vendors be known.

I noticed it disapeared, it would be awful for people to know problems that others are having, bashing or not, facts are facts.

Quite frankly I am neither a moderator or an administrator or an owner of this site, but I find your statement rude and uncalled for. Did you happen to read the rules when you signed up for this site?
