Anyone live around Redding Ca.

Hey all, were looking for a potential retirement/relocation area and are considering the Redding/Weaverville/Yreka area of Kali but really dont know the scoop on the area particulars. Things like water, climate, snowfall, etc. were looking for some property, minium of 5 acres, more like 20 to 100 in a rolling hills type terrain, water has to be at least 10GPM well,Off grid possibly, some snow is OK but not 5' for several months. Hopes are to run a small horse rescue/ranch type setup. OK to be a ways from civilazition 30+ miles, small town near would be OK(fuel and beer stuff). Dosent have to have a dwelling on it but a crusty old house or barn would be nice. Well put a mobile or?? later. Any ideas???? or advice???
Were heading that way this weekend for another look around and some fishing, ye ha!!!!!!!!!

Stop in at J & H Performance in the Redding area. Their address is on the sites home page. They might be able to point you out to some nice spots.

I grew up in Redding area and if it wasn't for it being in California I would move back when I retired from the AF. The valley does get snow once in awhile and it last for a week tops. The winter lows can get in the 20s and the summer highs can get to 120s. Most of the time it is a very comfortable area climate was. Weaverville and Yreka are higher in elevation and will get more snow. All of the area if is nice.
