Anyone get burned by Proflowers?

You guessed it, they didnt show up. Tried the phone, they hung up on me. Tried the internet, found a tracking number that said billing info submitted on the 13th. Later this evening recieved an e mail stating they had shipped. Rechecked the UPS tracking and showed that they were picked up in Norfolk Va at 7:30pm this evening (14th) and still are guaranteeing delivery to the school that she teaches at durring the schoolday for Valentines day.
I paid the extra fee to get delivery on Val day. The order was placed a week ago. I guess VISA will get another call as that the charge had not yet show up yet. They will not block a purchase as this but made a note of my displeasure and will be glad to recind them when they do show up on my statement.

I hope your milage was better......

I had two co-workers place orders with ProFlowers on Saturday night. They were both leary of getting burned with a V-Day delivery, so they set up delivery for Monday. Both made it right on time as promised, and both of them also received twice the number of flowers they ordered. So they're watching their statements to see if they're going to end up with extra charges.

Well that bites. If the order was placed a week ago you should get a FULL refund if they were not delivered on 1/14/06 as agreed. You can have your girl friend refuse them, then they are not delivered and you'll be entitled to a full refund.

I've ordered many times from PROFLOWERS but never on a holiday. I always had good luck with them in the past. They take the orders but have a local florist actually make the arrangement to their specs and deliver it. It may have been the local company that dropped the ball.

More than likely it was a screw up by UPS.

They truly are the biggest idiots.

I was about to say.....

I ordered from ProFlowers and have always had GREAT results.

They DO NOT get the flowers locally. Any schmuck could do that. And if you buy from them, you'll get the same poor quality flowers that die in 3 days.

I've become a big fan of PF, even if they are expensive. My wife has had PF flowers stay alive for a month!!

Take that, FTD, teleflora, etc.

IF you google search for UPS problems (smashing packages etc) there is a website you might find that is a scream.
What really goes on in the hubs.

Yeah, I like that TV ad- "What can Brown do for you?"

How about - deliver the package unsmashed and in one piece?

Then you file a damage claim for the insurance paid, and UPS invariably says "package not packed properly", claim denied.

My company switched to Fedex years ago, with no problems/claims whatsoever.

This was not a UPS problem. Proflowers admited in a email it was their fault. They offered to refund my shipping money. I think it is now time to call VISA again......

You had a contract with a flower company to deliver flowers to a certain place at a certain time. It is their busniess to do so, and they failed to perform to the agreed to terms. You owe them nothing, in fact there could be damages for the stress and embarrassment you and your wife? went through during this ordeal.

At the very least you should get a FULL refund.

I would tell them (in writing) they have 3 days to get a full refund or you will contact an attorney and proceed with civil damages.

Refund the shipping???

They need to refund the whole enchilada

"oh btw dear, thanks for the flowers, but valentines day was yesterday"

I've been noticing lately, more so now than before, that nothing is done right the 1st time, and you have to end up being all over it, to be sure that what you are trying to get done, actually gets done as planned. Seems like few anymore give a darn about doing their job right the 1st time and on time.

I have nothing but negative to say about them. I ordered from them a few times years back while on deployment and not only were they late, but the flowers looked nothing like what I had ordered. I made sure the wife took pictures of what she recieved each time as I had been short changed buy a local company that catered to the base I was stationed at. Customer service was terrible, as I had to speak with two other customer service people and mail the pictures in before I could get my issue resolved and a full refunds. As it stands now, I only get flowers from florist I can walk into and carry them out or that can guarantee that what I am buying is what will show up to my door on time.

I very nicely (yes it hurt) asked them if that was the best they would do as I was still giving them the chance to make it right.
I reminded them that this was the first time I had used them. How do they want the "first impression" to be remembered.
I told them that customer service is so important to me that if it were my company, I would have never billed the 1st order AND sent another at no charge to make up for it.
The ball is in their court now again.

I still have VISA ready to fix it.

If they dont like the charges reversed, they can come get the flowers. I think I will never see them anyway. The 5th grade class she teaches has kind of "latched" on to them. It was a potted rose.

Wellllll, I can't say my experience was similiar. I know they are like a flower "broker", and as Hohn would say "Any schmuck could do that." I'm that schmuck, I didn't feel like contacting a florist in the city where my wife works, so I did it the easy way 1-800 flowers.com I ordered them on Friday, (for Monday cause I was skeert)
Anyway, they were there at 4:30 Monday afternoon after she left. They were on her desk or her first thing Tuesday as I had hoped. Pretty much as described, but Good God, $65.00 for Tulips????!!
