Question Anybody Transport Cars???

I was wondering if anybody out there transports cars? I understand there is LOTS of $$$ in it. How does one get started? I figure a trailer and just throwing out your business card to the dealerships is a good way to get going? I was thinking of running a 2 car trailer vs the 3, only cause of my SRW. But, adding airbags would probably work out fine, yes?

I would suggest to contact your local DOT office or State Patrol office and ask what do you need, otherwise your "Arrest me red" truck will become an "Arrested red" truck

There is much more to add to the picture, insurance, books, medical, etc. it all adds up to the cost of doing this business.
If you want to do it part time, don't bother, costs are too much to justify it.

Google hot shot haulers and you can find forums and such. I was thinking of the same until I did some research and with the economy the way it is there is not the business since car sales are way down. There are many haulers going out of business, do your homework.

They would check you around here in a heart beat. They have even pulled me over for inspection when I was just pulling my 20' utility trailer back from the dump. Told me I was luck I had trailer tires and safety chains on the trailer. Checked for safety chains, fire ext. triangles, and correct tires. Also said I was lucky to have E rated tires on my 1 ton. When I said lucky heck ( or something to that effect) he tried to give me a ticket for no saftey brake on the trailer. I had to point out that the trailer was a 92 model and did not require them.
