Instead of going home and playing with computers, I was outside in the shop tuning pickups and semi's. However, the computer experience hasnt gone to waist. I put alot of it to good use on the the newer electronic controlled engines. Its been the best decision I ever made. Sure, I may take a pay cut, but its what I love to do.

I graduated from there back in December with the same degree. I have yet to find a job though I fear by the time I actually do find a job I will have forgotten everything I learned

So, you have a computer science degree? What type of programming are you wanting to get into - mainframe COBOL, web programming, etc? Where are you wanting to find a job? I graduated in May of '98. The job market then was pretty good since everyone was still working on Y2K issues. Now, a lot of the contract programmers have taken permanent jobs.

Well I am open to just about any computer related job but as for programming, I would like to find one in COBOL, UNIX, Visual Basic or Oracle. I would prefer to get a job somewhere in Central Texas. Atleast within a 40 mile radius of Lorena. My main concern is getting a stable, good paying job with good benefits. I have a decent job right now making pretty good money and it would be almost impossible to get fired That and I have two kids so a good insurance package is a must. With the economy the way it is and all the businesses laying off left and right I'm afraid to leave my stable job and go into the unknown.

Back when I started TSTC this was the field to go into... now that I have graduated that has changed. Only five people I graduated with have found jobs
