Any Snap on tool experts - need drill battery help!

I have an older Snap on 9.6v cordless drill and a 3/8 inch impact gun that uses the same battery. I love the tools and they served me well until the batteries have taken a dump. I would just go out and buy a newer cordless drill set-up, but I hate to loose the impact gun too and I just bought a new versa charger from snap-on that can charge all of their batteries for their cordless tools.

I thought I heard that you can use a 12 or 14volt battery set-up in these drills with some minor fitment mods. Does anynody know?

Who makes these drills for snap-on? Maybe their batteries will work!

Any suggestions other than buy a new Ryobi, Dewalt, Milwakee or Makita etc. etc.

I have seen ads on ebay and in contracting mags for some outfits that rebuild your batteries. I do not remember their names but I do remember one ad stating that they could do any battery for 35 bucks and ship it back to you.
This may be a way to save your tools. It suprises me that the great and mighty snappy does not have replacements.....

if you can get the battery pack apart you can usually go to batteries plus and get the batteries, solder the jumpers, put it back together and charge it up.
