any one ever check the E.G.T. on a gass engine

has anyone ever checked the E.G.T. on a gas engine? I am just curious.

Yes, gas, CNG, Butane/Propane mix engines too..

It does not have the same relevance as with a diesel. To get to the correct AFR an O2 sensor is preferred on those.
With the Lycoming and Continental engines in aircrafts you had either cylinder head temp or EGT to get to the proper AFR (lean out till max EGT , then get richer 2 points on the scale for best economy)
